About

Be My Blood Brother is an interactive performance by artist Nathan Sharratt that explores how families are created by using constructed bonding in place of genetic bonding. The traditional blood-brother ritual's ingredients are removed and fake blood is used in place of real blood.

Familial Ingredients:
Corn Syrup = Father
Corn Starch = Mother
Red = Maternal Ancestor
Green = Paternal Ancestor

We Are Blood Brothers is a continuation of Be My Blood Brother. If you have participated in a Blood Brothers performance and bonded with Nathan, you have a ticket that mirrors the one shown on the site. Find the post that corresponds to your ticket number. Tell your story in the comment box. Read the stories of your fellow Brothers. Comment on their stories. Make new connections.

Starting with ticket number 91, stories are able to be shared directly from the installation through an interactive kiosk. However, if you have already shared your story through the kiosk but would like to elaborate (so much pressure with people waiting behind you!), you may do so in the comment box and I will update your post. You may also fix typos (it's not easy typing on a touch screen), however I will not remove content.

You are connected by Blood to everyone whose number is smaller than yours, and by faith to those whose number is larger.
